Seal safari

Visit the curious seals.

Get a close up experience with one of the largest predators in the danish wildlife - the habour seal. We will start the tour with an introduction of the biology of the seals in our nature school. Then the tractor bus "Mandøbussen" will bring us to the dikes at the island Mandoe. From here we will walk about 2.5 km out on the dry sea bottom where we will meet the large seal colony. The seals are located on the other side of a large and deep tidal current so there will be a natural barrier between us and the seals. However, we will bring binoculars for the participants so we will get that "close up" feeling.

All participants must be able to walk at least 6 km. Bring food and water (especially water in the summer season). Clothes according to the weather forecast and rubber boots. In the summer season we will walk in bare feet.

If we will have to cancel the tour due to high water levels it will be announced on our webpage.
