The special exhibition at the Wadden Sea Center presents artist Carl Christian Tofte, who is known for his evocative depictions of coastal and wading birds. His works stem from close nature studies and combine artistic sensitivity with great precision.
The focus is on the bird species that characterize the Wadden Sea. With a keen eye for movement, light and landscape, Tofte captures the birds in their natural surroundings – calmly, concentratedly and with great empathy.
The exhibition invites you to experience the world of waders anew and to see the Wadden Sea through the eyes of art from May 8th to September 2026.
The opening ceremony is on May 8th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM (the center closes at 5:00 PM), with free admission to the opening, where we will offer a glass of bubbles and light snacks.
