Breakfast on the dike is part of the VaBene project in collaboration with the German Wadden Sea and originally comes from the Netherlands, where it has been very popular for years. Here you will find a little insight into Ontbijt op de dijk in the Dutch Wadden Sea. Now, for the first time, it will take place here in Denmark and at different locations at the same time along the dikes in Germany and the Netherlands. So join us in creating a new tradition on our Wadden Sea coast. #vabene

After breakfast, one of our nature guides will be ready to show you the amazing animal and plant life of the Wadden Sea and explain why the Wadden Sea has been designated a World Heritage Site and why we must protect this natural environment. Along the way, we will collect any litter we come across. Fishing nets are provided, and you can catch shrimp and crabs or look for and taste the first saltwort of the season on the Wadden Sea floor.

You can easily park at the Wadden Sea Centre and then take a short walk to the dike (700 m), where breakfast awaits you. If you are not that good at walking, there is the option to park directly at the dike. Unfortunately, there are only a few parking spaces there.
