Craft market on 7th February 2026

Discover handmade treasures, meet the artisans in person, and enjoy the cosy atmosphere with coffee and homemade cake at our opening market on 7 February.

During the winter holidays in week 7, exciting experiences await in the national park – from guided mudflat walks and family activities to special nature experiences in the clear winter air.

Valancius Design

Behind VALANCIUS DESIGN is me, Dovilė Valančiūtė, a ceramist with roots in Lithuania who lives in Denmark with my family. With a background in anthropology, I'm interested in how we create meaning through the things we surround ourselves with – through culture, tradition, craftsmanship and nature.

My inspiration comes from my Lithuanian roots, where traditional symbols play a central role in my work. At the same time, I am inspired by the nature around me in the marshlands, where the sea, birds and wind merge and find their way into my ceramics.

Ceramics is my quiet language – where old stories are carried forward in new forms. And the greatest joy for me is to see my ceramics become part of people's everyday lives and homes.

I work primarily with black stoneware clay, using the slab technique and constantly experimenting with glazes.

Viggo & Elsebeth Lorenzen

Handcrafted wooden products are made in various shapes and sizes – from decorative figures to bowls. Much of the work is done using recycled wood from Ringborgen. The bowls are available in several sizes and each one is unique.

Other types of wood are also used. The latest project involves the production of faithful replicas of wooden bowls from the Viking Age, based on finds from Hedeby.

The products combine traditional craftsmanship with historical inspiration and a focus on the origin of the materials.

Rav&Ro

Rav&Ro was inspired by the roaring power of the North Sea and the tranquillity of the dune landscape. All products are carefully handcrafted in a small amber workshop on a dune farm north of Hvide Sande. With respect for nature's own craftsmanship, the shape of the amber is not altered, only embellished. Wear the amber and you will see how it begins to shine more and more with each passing day. Each piece of amber has been on a long journey and thus carries its own unique history, which is over 30,000,000 years old. Amber symbolises love, tranquillity and relief. Wear it close to your body and experience the magical properties of amber.

Maritime Kunst - from the land between the seas

Unique maritime art by sculptor Björn Poppinga. A special artist who creates these works of art in ceramic and glass between the seas in Schleswig-Holstein. His works reflect his multifaceted approach to form and color. He switches between different techniques, which seem to know no bounds. His hands create intoxicating, brightly colored, one-of-a-kind pieces. It feels as if you could take a piece of the sea home with you.

Bettina Holmquist

Bettina Holmquist features beautiful hand-dyed organic merino wool, yarn kits, examples of Multipatent knitting and a selection of printed patterns.

Multipatent looks advanced and difficult, but the technique is actually quite simple and fun.

Nadieh Art

Hello, my name is Nadieh, and I present my paintings under the name NadiehArt.

Nature is central to my life and work, and I am on a mission to make people aware of nature's beauty and power.

All my work is acrylic-based, and I create my own artworks and also do commissioned canvases.

I have also recently been able to present a fantastic card set based on my work, ‘Little Garden guests’.

I look forward to seeing you on opening day at the Wadden Sea Centre.

Minder - Vintage & Genbrug

Minder – Vintage & Genbrug offers carefully selected, sustainable finds – from ceramics and baskets to unique knick-knacks with lots of history.

For today's market, we are focusing extra on nature's shapes and colours: glass bowls inspired by sea fish, small fossilised sea urchins, beautiful old nature reference books and other treasures taken from nature's own story.

Normally, the shop is located in the old Hviding Kro, but today we are looking forward to moving part of the shop to the Wadden Sea Centre. In our opinion, our range fits perfectly into the spirit of the centre, where nature, tranquillity and sustainability go hand in hand.

Here, it is all about cherishing what we have – and giving things with soul a new lease of life.

DJ artwork

In the heart of South Jutland's countryside, close to the marshlands and the old town of Ribe, you will find DJ. Artwork Gallery – a universe filled with pastel paintings and art prints.

The joy of nature shines through in Sanne's art – often with a commentary on the times we live in, with the hope that the works can evoke recognition and at the same time bring a little smile to the viewer's lips.
