Ribe Oyster Festival at the Wadden Sea Center

As part of the Ribe Oyster Festival, you can take a bus from Ribe to the Wadden Sea Center. Here you will be given a guided tour with a special focus on oysters in the Wadden Sea. Afterwards, there will be time to explore the Wadden Sea Center on your own. You will be served a delicious lunch in the Wadden Sea Center's café.

The exhibition

Experience the Wadden Sea and its biodiversity

The tour starts with a bus pick-up from Hotel Dagmar in Ribe and P-Syd, after which we drive to the Wadden Sea Centre. Here you'll enjoy an exciting tour of our exhibition with a guide from the Wadden Sea Centre who will give you an insight into the biodiversity of the Wadden Sea. You'll learn about the tides, the unique ecosystem and the fascinating species that thrive in this dynamic environment. After the tour, you'll have time to explore the exhibition on your own before we head out to the oysters.

Oystertour

Collect and taste oysters from the Nationalpark

With our experienced guides, we head out over the endless expanses of the seabed in search of oysters. The nature guide will choose the day's destination based on the tide level and guide you safely to an area with oysters. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to taste fresh oysters straight from the Wadden Sea while the natureinterpreter shares his/hers knowledge of the area's special landscape.

Practicals

The tour is approximately 4 km long and suitable for children from 8 years old.
Pick-up and drop-off in Ribe.
Remember tall rubber boots and rain trousers to protect against water and mud.
