During all school holidays (weeks 27-32) you can try different activities at at the Wadden Sea Centre. Most activities are organised for children, but there is often something for adults to explore too. During the designated time, a nature guide will be on hand to answer all your curious questions and help you with the activities. Participation is free with the purchase of an entrance ticket.

Cephalopods and other molluscs
On Wednesday 2 July between 11:00 and 14:00 we will focus on squid and other molluscs. Join us as the nature guide dissects squid and examines mussels and snails. The day will also include experiments to find out how mussels eat, dig and maybe even swim?
Seaweed
On Wednesday 9 July between 11:00 and 14:00 we dive into the wonderful world of seaweed. Seaweed can be used for many different purposes and on this day the nature guide will show and explain about this magical organism. Did you know that seaweed is a type of algae and not a plant at all? The day will offer various activities and maybe something to taste...
Marine mammals
On Wednesday 16 July between 11:00 and 14:00 we will investigate marine mammals. On the day there will be activities for curious souls young and old. These include guessing which marine mammals we have drawn in our tundra garden, checking your diving reflex or petting a stuffed seal pup.
Birds
On Wednesday 23 July between 11:00 and 14:00 we will look at birds. We'll open up a bird and see how they are structured inside. Do we recognise any organs from ourselves? Are there any differences? If we're lucky, we might find out what it has eaten and maybe even find parasites inside.
Fish
On Wednesday 30 July between 11:00 and 14:00, it's all about fish at the Wadden Sea Centre. During the day, a nature guide will dissect both round and flatfish, where you will be able to see and feel things if you are interested. There will also be an opportunity to try a fish game, make creative recycled fish and see if you can find all the fish inside the stirring basin and aquariums;
Crabs and other crusteaceans
On Wednesday 6 August between 11:00 and 14:00 we will look at crustaceans. This day we'll do little experiments and examine the inside and outside of a crab. Do crabs really pee out of their eyes and is it true that male crabs have 2 penises? Join the naturalist guide as you investigate this and much more.
