Craft market on 7th February 2026
Discover handmade treasures, meet the artisans in person, and enjoy the cosy atmosphere with coffee and homemade cake at our opening market on 7 February.

Fish dissection in the exhibition
In the sky room of our exhibition, the nature guide dissects a fish. Where is the heart located? What does a fish need to be able to swim? You will learn this and much more before we are finished. Do you think you can handle the smell? Come by and find out... Participation is free with a valid ticket to the exhibition. You can find the dates in our event calendar.
Bird dissection in the exhibition
The nature guide has found birds in the sky room of our exhibition. We will take a closer look at them, both from the outside and the inside. What are these feathers for? Where is the heart located? Can birds really get by without teeth? You will learn much more before we are finished. Do you think you can handle the smell? Come by and find out... Ribe Oyster Festival at the Wadden Sea Center
As part of the Ribe Oyster Festival, you can take a bus from Ribe to the Wadden Sea Center. Here you will be given a guided tour with a special focus on oysters in the Wadden Sea. Afterwards, there will be time to explore the Wadden Sea Center on your own. You will be served a delicious lunch in the Wadden Sea Center's café.
Easter holidays 2026
During the Easter holidays in weeks 14 and 15, you can join us as we dive into the exciting world of the Wadden Sea in spring. After a long, dark winter, the first summer visitors return to the national park from the warm south on their way to the far north. Join us on exciting trips to the Wadden Sea and learn more about the Wadden Sea in spring.
Exhibition Expedition (only in danish)
Embark on an exciting expedition through our exhibition and learn more about the Wadden Sea and its creatures. The tour has a seasonal focus and lasts about 45 minutes. Afterwards, you can explore our exhibition and grounds on your own and solve an exciting riddle.

Birdwatching with Dissection
We start at the Wadden Sea Centre with a brief introduction to bird watching with binoculars. Then we walk together to the dike and the Wadden Sea 700 metres away to see if we can spot any birds. How many different species can you find? How can you identify a bird correctly, even when it is backlit? And what is typical of our wading birds? Back at the Wadden Sea Centre, we will dissect a bird in one of our nature schools and discover the anatomical adaptations to life in the air.
Please bring your own binoculars. You can also borrow some from us. All equipment for the bird dissection is provided by the Wadden Sea Centre.
