Experience seals in the Wadden Sea with the Wadden Sea Center

The Wadden Sea Centre invites you on unique seal tours in the Wadden Sea National Park, where you can experience some of the most fascinating seal species that live in Denmark. Whether you choose a seal safari on Mandø by tractor bus or in your own car , a unique experience filled with nature, fresh air and exciting knowledge about seals in Denmark awaits you.

What can you expect on a seal safari?

Our seal safari starts from the Wadden Sea Center and takes you out to the beautiful Mandø. On the Mandø seal safari we either take a tractor bus from the center or drive in our own cars to the stop. Afterwards, a hike along the dike and out over the mudflats awaits you, where you can enjoy the spectacular view and learn more about the area's unique wildlife.

The total walk to the seal bank is approximately 5 kilometers and takes about 3 hours. Here, one of our experienced guides will make the walk extra interesting with stories about seals in the Wadden Sea and why the 300-meter tidal channel cannot be crossed. Feel free to bring your own binoculars, but we also provide telescopes so you can see the seals clearly.

Become a seal helper on our seal tours!

As part of the #vabene project, interested children can be trained as seal helpers during the tour by the nature guide. This activity is included in the ticket price. Trained seal helpers receive a certificate at the end of the tour, which they can take home along with a small information booklet.
