NOTE: The trip requires you to be in normal to good condition. To get to the oyster banks we walk 8 km in waders and a part of the hike can be in waist-deep water. Therefore the trip is not recommended for children and elderly people. Participants should be at least 150 cm tall and be able to walk 10 km.
As this is the Wadden Sea Centre's most challenging tour, the nature guide can advise individual participants not to take part in the trip, if he/she estimates that there can be a safety risk involved.
The trip may be cancelled in the days before and on the day of the tour, due to bad weather conditions (thunder and to high water level) . Of course we will let you know as soon as possible.

Practical information
This ticket gives a 20% discount on entrance fee to the Wadden Sea Centre within a week of the tour.
Good to bring
- Wind and waterproof clothing
- Extra socks and gloves
- Drinking water and something to eat (water, fruit, chocolate)
- Backpack or bucket to carry oysters (buckets can be bought at the Wadden Sea Centre
- Gloves for handling oysters (can be purchased at the Wadden Sea Center)
- Oyster knife (can be bought at the Wadden Sea Center)
- Possibly. lemon and bubbles (can be bought at the Wadden Sea Centre) for the oysters and other delicacies.
Info from the organizer
- Cancellation must be made at least two weeks before tour date for the ticket to be refunded.
- The ticket fee cannot be refunded.
- The Wadden Sea Centre can cancel the trip until the day of the tour due to bad weather. We strive to cancel as early as possible.
- Waders are included. Normal clothes are sufficient under the waders. In cold weather wear long underwear in addition.
- The tour requires a car.
