The special exhibition at Vadehavscentret features nature photographer Mikkel Due Andersen, known for his evocative and sensory nature photography from Bornholm. His images grow out of close natural studies, uniting the scientific with the poetic.

At the heart of his work is the nature found just outside the door – in the forest, the bog, and on the beach. Through long exposures, motion, and double exposures, Andersen creates images where nature isn't meant to be explained, but experienced.

The exhibition invites you to rediscover the nature just outside your door — as a prelude to his upcoming book Almanak – Nature Photography Stories, out in 2026.

The opening reception also features a talk and live music: Mikkel will speak about his work and the thinking behind Almanak, while selected image series are accompanied by his own compositions performed live on guitar.

The opening reception takes place on 2 October, 15.00–16.00 (the centre closes at 17.00), with free admission and a glass of bubbly and light snacks.
